Position Description
The Barrick RoW Team are seeking to recruit an UG Fleet Management System Specialist - RoW.
The UG Fleet Management System Specialist - RoW is responsible for providing regional technical leadership, governance and operational support for the implementation, optimisation and continuous improvement of underground Fleet Management System solutions across RoW operations. The role will partner with site operations, mining, maintenance, IT/OT, planning and vendor teams to ensure safe, reliable and value-adding adoption of fleet management technologies, with a focus on improving equipment utilisation, production visibility, data integrity, dispatch effectiveness and operational decision-making.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Actively encourage, motivate and demonstrate a culture of safety leadership.
- In collaboration with all stakeholders, provide governance and oversight of UG Fleet Management System implementation across the region.
- Actively participate and provide operational guidance and input into the development of commercial agreements for UG Fleet Management System.
- Complete audits on site compliance with Fleet Management System implementation, in line with company policies and expectations.
- Engage in innovation and technology forums to stay at the forefront of innovation and technology in the mining industry.
- Collaborate and assist with the integration of the Fleet Management System solutions with all stakeholders.
- Conduct risk assessments and management of change processes to ensure the successful implementation and adoption of the Fleet Management System solutions.
- Lead the implementation of Fleet Management System, with a focus on the DFMC solution.
- Provide regional subject matter expertise for underground FMS configuration, dispatch workflows, production tracking, equipment status management, material movement, reporting and system performance.
- Work with site teams to define implementation roadmaps, readiness requirements, operational standards, user roles, training needs and sustainment plans for each operation.
- Monitor system adoption, data quality and operational performance indicators, identifying opportunities to reduce delays, improve compliance to plan and strengthen short interval control.
- Coordinate FMS integration requirements with mine planning, maintenance, reporting, communications network, operational technology and enterprise systems to enable accurate near real-time reporting and decision support.
- Support troubleshooting, issue escalation, vendor coordination and post-implementation optimisation to ensure FMS reliability, usability and business value are sustained across the region.
- Develop and maintain regional standards, implementation playbooks, audit tools, reporting templates and lessons learned to support consistent deployment and continuous improvement.
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering.
- Formal training or certification in mining fleet management technology systems will be highly regarded.
Experience and Skills Requirements
- 5 years' + relevant experience in world class mechanised UG assets and a minimum of 2 years' experience with Fleet Management usage plus implementation.
- Strong understanding of underground mechanised mining methods, production workflows, dispatch practices, equipment cycles, material movement, and operational performance metrics.
- Proven experience implementing, supporting, or optimising Fleet Management Systems, dispatch systems, mine control systems or related underground digital mining technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to work across operations, maintenance, technical services, IT/OT, vendors, and senior stakeholders in a regional or multi-site environment.
- Strong data literacy, analytical capability, and reporting skills, with the ability to translate system data into actionable operational insights.
- Experience with change management, training, user adoption, governance, audit processes, and continuous improvement in an underground mining environment.
- Excellent communication, influencing and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with site leadership, frontline users, and technical specialists.
