Analyst - Fixed Income Sales

The Analyst - Fixed Income & Currencies Sales will support the Australian sales team across all aspects of client coverage, business development and trade execution.

They will be responsible for:

  • Supporting senior salespeople in the coverage of Australian and international institutional clients including super funds, asset managers, hedge funds, banks and insurance companies.
  • Preparing market commentary, client presentations, trade ideas and product marketing materials.
  • Monitoring market developments across rates, FX, credit and macroeconomic themes and communicating relevant insights to the team.
  • Working closely with Trading and Research teams to develop client-focused trade ideas and relative value opportunities.
  • Assisting with the preparation of client meetings, roadshows and internal strategy discussions.
  • Maintaining CRM databases, client activity records and relationship maps.
  • Supporting electronic trading initiatives across single dealer and multi-dealer platforms, including user mapping and client analytics.
  • Assisting with profitability analysis, wallet analysis and business development initiatives.
  • Coordinating onboarding and KYC processes with Compliance, CMU and COO teams.
  • Supporting pre-trade, trade execution and post-trade workflows, ensuring timely resolution of operational and client servicing requirements.
  • Liaising with Operations, Legal, Compliance and Risk teams to facilitate seamless client onboarding and transaction execution.
  • Assisting with preparation of regular management reports, sales activity reports and market updates.
  • Monitoring sales credits, transaction records and client activity reporting.
  • Developing strong working relationships with sales teams across Asia-Pacific, London and New York to support global account coverage.
  • Participating in training sessions, product presentations and strategic projects to develop product expertise and market knowledge.

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge Required

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Engineering or a related discipline
  • Strong interest in financial markets, macroeconomics and institutional sales
  • Previous internship or experience in financial services, investment banking, markets, asset management or treasury functions would be advantageous
  • Understanding of Fixed Income and Currencies products including Rates, FX, Bonds and Derivatives is preferred
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Bloomberg, VBA, Python or data analytics tools would be advantageous
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
