Overview

Your Role

Working with the Leadership and Management team this role will see you provide day-to-day leadership and technical mentoring to your team ensuring the delivery of a cost effective, professional and customer focused claims service, while developing staff and implementing quality initiatives. This role has a significant focus on leadership, customer service and continuous improvement.

This position will be offered on a permanent full-time basis with WFH flexibility.


How you'll make an impact

You will add value to Gallagher Bassett across the following:

  • Ensure the claims team delivers exceptional Customer Service in a manner that upholds the SIRA Customer Service Principles
  • Manage the day to day operations of the Specialty Claims team – a hybrid portfolio of claims consisting of Medical Negligence, Historic Abuse and other claims
  • Ensure the delivery of cost effective, professional and customer-focused claims service
  • Lead quality assurance activities, including audit results, data integrity, process refinements
  • Lead Tier 1 activities and drive continuous improvement initiatives and prevent any recurring or systemic incidents
  • Manage team performance in line with team targets and service level agreements
  • Ensure appropriate team capability with effective recruitment and staff development planning
  • Provide day-to-day management and technical expertise to the team
  • Manage approvals outside of team delegations in relation to payments, letters, declinatures, mediations, etc

About you

We’re interested in hearing from people who possess:

  • At least 7 years insurance experience with 3 years management experience over your insurance career
  • Strong technical expertise in General Liability, Historic Abuse and/or Professional Indemnity claims handling
  • Ability to build and develop business relationship with clients and Service Providers
  • Ability to comply with relevant state legislation
  • Insurance policy interpretation skills
  • Stakeholder management
  • Strong level of interpersonal skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Commitment to quality and accuracy
  • ANZIIF Executive Certificate in General Insurance Claims or AQF Diploma of General insurance or industry equivalent (desirable)
