ENT Consultant Opportunity - Join our Team at SALHN!

The Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) is seeking a fellowship-trained ENT Specialist Consultant with cochlear implant and skull base surgery experience to join the respected team. Bring specialist expertise in Otology, Lateral Skull Base Surgery and Cochlear Implants to a service that directly shapes patient outcomes across the southern Adelaide community.

About the role:

Reporting to the Medical Head of Unit, this role is integral to providing clinical services of the highest possible standard to the ENT Department patients, both in terms of individual performance and by providing clinical leadership and contribution to a multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Provide skilled medical care with a focus on Otology, Lateral Skull Base and Cochlear Implants
  • Direct and oversee the care of patients for whom the Staff Specialist is responsible
  • Contribute actively to the unit/ specialty including on-call to ensure safe, best practice clinical services for patients
  • Contribute to teaching and training of medical, nursing, allied health and other relevant staff at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Contribute actively to the ongoing improvement of the hospital's care delivery systems.
  • Being responsive to the expectations and needs of both clinical and non-clinical colleagues.

About you:

  • You must hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. You must hold an appropriate Specialist Qualification and be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery with fellowship training in Otology, Lateral Skull Base and Cochlear Implants; or hold an equivalent qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
  • To be suitable for this role you must demonstrate high standards of clinical practice in the relevant specialty.
  • You will possess professional integrity and a commitment to quality improvement.
  • You will have the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment while using effective communication skills.
  • You will demonstrate a commitment to teaching and supervision and the ability to foster and lead respectful behaviour.

This is a part time vacancy, working approximately 2 days a month and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
