Our Branch Strategic Finance is part of Corporate Services and plays an important role in helping the organisation make informed financial decisions. We work closely with teams across the business to provide budgeting, reporting and financial advice that supports the delivery of services and strategic priorities. We are a collaborative and supportive team that values continuous improvement, innovation and delivering great outcomes for our stakeholders. The Role As a Band 5 Accountant, you'll play an important role in helping the organisation make informed financial decisions. Working as part of the Strategic Finance team, you'll support financial reporting, reconciliations and analysis activities, partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to provide practical asset accounting advice and compliance with Asset Accounting standards and Council policies. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements, support good financial governance and help drive positive business outcomes. If you enjoy building relationships, working with data and making an impact beyond the numbers, this could be the role for you To be successful you will have: Qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or a related field Experience in asset accounting, financial reporting and financial analysis The ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with stakeholders across a variety of teams Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information in a clear and practical way A customer-focused approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes A proactive mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement practical solutions Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment An understanding of financial governance, risk management and internal control frameworks A collaborative approach, with a willingness to contribute to team success and embrace feedback A desire to make a positive impact through trusted financial advice and business partnering.
