Our Environmental Health teams operate within clear frameworks that enable confident decisionmaking, effective prioritisation and strong risk management. As an Environmental Health Officer within Council, you will utilise your well-developed knowledge of public health and environment to achieve outcomes for our city and residents. Acting on behalf of Council, you will perform your role as an Authorised Officer, exercising delegated powers to apply legislation and local laws. A typical day as an Environmental Health Officer may include licensing, auditing and complaint-based investigation in areas of food safety, personal appearance, public health and environmental protection. To be successful, you will have: a tertiary qualification in Environmental Health (please see the link) https://www.eh.org.au/workforce/accredited-courses an open 'C' class driver's licence a Working Safely with Children Blue Card well-developed time management and organisational skills excellent communication, research, and problem-solving skills a solid understanding of environmental health principles and legislation. This position requires a Criminal History Check and a pre-employment medical assessment to assess your ability to perform the genuine occupational requirements of the role.
