About the job

This is a Power BI Data modeller role responsible for delivering Data models, design standards, end to end data mapping documents for our Banking and Financial services clients. The role is offered as a long-term contract position.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support data analysis and business intelligence needs.
  • Create and maintain current- and target-state data mapping documents
  • Define and manage standards, guidelines, and processes to ensure data quality
  • Develop and maintain metadata information including data dictionaries and catalogues, data lineage maps, and entity-relationship diagrams to help analysts and business users find relevant information for analysis and development of data tools such as dashboards and analytics models
  • Champion the role of data governance across the enterprise
  • Work with IT (Information Technology) teams, business analysts, and data analytics teams to understand data consumers’ needs and develop solutions
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies for data management.
  • Support Enterprise Information Architecture Manager & Broader Enterprise Architecture Team advising on projects & BAU functions in the application of enterprise data architecture principles and standard
  • Strong inter-personal skills and ability to work as part of a team 

Key Skills & Experience

At least 5 years of working experience working in Data modelling and data solution design in a fast-paced environment and complex business setting. Experience in data modelling, preferably in financial services.
Strong proficiency in SQL and database query optimization and tuning
Experience with data modelling tools such as Erwin Data Modeler and similar software as well as dimensional data warehouse methods (e.g., Data Vault) to support enterprise data integration and warehousing needs
Experience working in close collaboration with data analysts and data scientists to deliver data for analysis and reports, business dashboards, and machine learning models
Experience working with varied forms of data infrastructure inclusive of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) applications, relational databases,APIs, Platforms such as Azure Databricks or Snowflake, Hadoop, Spark
Experience working with cloud big data platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS (Amazon Web Services), and GCP.
Ability to utilize Business Intelligence tools (Power BI) to represent insights 
Strong SQL and Python skills to analyse data and provide insights
