This exciting project presents an opportunity to join a highly experienced underground team from the outset, working on a major Australian mining operation known for its world class copper and gold production. With a strong project pipeline, a modern underground fleet, and a commitment to safety and development, this is an excellent opportunity for experienced Underground Fitters seeking long term career growth.
We're looking for motivated and safety focused Underground Fitters to support maintenance activities across our underground equipment fleet and help drive project success from day one.
The Opportunity
- 14 days on / 14 days off roster
- 12 hour rotating day and night shifts
- FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns to Ernest Henry Mine, QLD
- Work on a modern underground fleet including:
- Development Jumbos
- Loaders
- Agi Trucks
- Shotcrete Equipment
- Ancillary underground mining equipment

About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Previous experience in underground development or production mining
- Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Qualification (Diesel Fitter, Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Mobile Plant Mechanic or equivalent)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills on underground mining equipment
- Experience working with hydraulic systems, drivetrains and heavy mobile equipment
- Current manual driver's licence
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and police clearance
- A proactive approach to safety and teamwork aligned with Redpath's values

Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs in accordance with OEM, statutory and site requirements
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and rectify mechanical and hydraulic equipment faults
- Conduct planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance activities
- Complete inspections, servicing and component replacements
- Maintain underground mobile equipment to maximise reliability and availability
- Identify and manage workplace hazards and risks
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting
- Contribute to a positive team culture and strong safety performance
