UGL's Fuels & Energy East business is seeking a Senior Mechanical / Piping Designer to support brownfield projects and asset maintenance programs across fuel terminals and petrochemical facilities.
Working within our PEM&AM contract, you'll collaborate with engineers, designers and project teams to deliver high-quality piping design solutions and P&ID development, ensuring safe, efficient and fit-for-purpose outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing team delivering critical infrastructure projects across Australia's energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver mechanical and piping design using AutoCAD and CADWorx (2D/3D)
- Develop and maintain P&IDs using CADWorx P&ID
- Produce General Arrangement (GA) drawings, isometrics and material take-offs (MTOs)
- Build, review and coordinate 3D models, including clash detection activities
- Support brownfield projects, including tie-ins, site inspections and as-built updates
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to meet project objectives and deliverables
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, client requirements and safety expectations
About You
- 8-10 years of mechanical and piping design experience within oil & gas, petrochemical, refining or related industries
- Strong expertise in both piping design and P&ID development
- Advanced proficiency with CADWorx and AutoCAD
- Experience working in brownfield operating environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes across multiple projects
- A proactive, team-oriented approach with a commitment to safety and continuous improvement
