About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Team Lead to join our Engineering team in Darwin.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior civil engineer who enjoys combining technical leadership, project delivery, client relationships and people development. You'll play a key role in leading our civil team, delivering high-quality engineering solutions and contributing to the continued growth of Fyfe's presence in the Northern Territory.

As Civil Team Lead, you will provide technical and operational leadership across a range of civil engineering projects, working closely with clients, project managers, engineers, designers and other disciplines across Fyfe.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver complex civil engineering designs across road and infrastructure projects.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance and quality assurance across civil engineering deliverables.
  • Lead design reviews, constructability reviews and technical peer reviews.
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules and quality outcomes.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, government agencies, councils, contractors and other project stakeholders.
  • Contribute to proposals, tendering, client engagement and business development.
  • Lead, mentor and develop civil engineers, designers and graduate engineers.
  • Build a high-performing, collaborative civil team and promote best-practice engineering.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant standards and requirements.

About you

  • A Civil Engineering qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status.
  • Demonstrated experience in road design and civil infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience leading and developing civil engineering teams.
  • Strong technical knowledge and the ability to provide sound engineering advice.
  • Established professional relationships and networks within the Northern Territory, particularly with DLI.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects, including scope, budget, programme and quality.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercial awareness, including experience with proposals, project scopes and client development.
  • A client-focused approach and the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
