UGL's Transmission and Utilities business undertakes essential design & construction services for critical infrastructure in the power and water sectors. Our end-to-end delivery ranges from transmission lines, switchyards, substations, electrical distribution through to water and wastewater treatment plants and water pipelines.

Our expertise includes the design, construct, commission, operate and maintain where our Utilities Team safely leads and delivers design & construct projects across Australia. Our project delivery extends to include short and long-term contracts either through self-performance works, working with Sub-contractors or through Joint Ventures. Our work spans from engineering design through to structural, civil, electrical installation works and commissioning.

The Opportunity

The Delivery Manager leads the delivery of multiple projects within a program of works for water infrastructure projects. The role is accountable for the performance of assigned projects and provides leadership to Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams to achieve safe, efficient and commercially sound outcomes aligned to agreed scope, schedule, budget and quality targets.

What will a day in this role look like:

Lead and support Project Managers and multidisciplinary delivery teams to achieve safe, efficient and successful project outcomes across the program portfolio.

Provide strategic oversight of project delivery, ensuring alignment with approved scope, schedule, budget, quality and performance objectives.

Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, JV partners and key stakeholders, acting as the senior delivery interface for assigned projects and workstreams.

Review and challenge project budgets, Target Outturn Costs (TOCs), forecasts and delivery strategies to ensure projects remain commercially viable and aligned with program objectives.

What are we looking for you to bring to the team:

Tertiary qualification in engineering and/or Project Management qualification preferably AIPM Diploma level or above.

Experience in MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent scheduling software.

A minimum of 10 years' demonstrable experience in, and sound understanding of, project management in a multi-disciplined production, manufacturing, maintenance or engineering environment.

Significant design and construction management experience in a similar role involving high profile government infrastructure program/s acting in the role of Principal Contractor ideally in water infrastructure projects.

Demonstrated experience in effectively developing and maintaining strategic relationships with stakeholders, including all levels of local government, other levels of government, regulators, community, customers and elected representatives.
