Boilermaker
DP World Brisbane is currently seeking to recruit a Boilermaker for our team at the Fisherman's Island Port terminal. The successful candidate will join a highly skilled maintenance team responsible for the inspection, repair and upkeep of our Quay Cranes, Automated Stacking Cranes, Shuttles, Reachstackers, Ancillary Plant, and Light Vehicles. Key Accountabilities
- Conduct regular planned maintenance, inspections and repairs of structural and mechanical components;
- Ensure equipment breakdowns and structural defects are responded to and addressed within the required timeframes;
- Undertake welding repairs and refurbishment activities to the required standard;
- Inspect plant and equipment for wear, damage and structural integrity issues;
- Ensure equipment is left in a safe condition and fully tested before returning to service;
- Ensure workplace safety considerations are taken into account when undertaking all maintenance tasks;
- Source spare parts, consumables and technical information required to undertake maintenance and repair tasks;
- Utilise the computerised maintenance management system to source store stock and job card information;
- Ensure shift handovers are provided to the Shift Supervisor in a timely manner prior to shift completion;
- Perform the Relief Shift Supervisor/Leading Hand role when required; and
- Ensure compliance with safe work practices, procedures and policies.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Successful completion of a Boilermaker trade qualification (Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or equivalent);
Extensive experience undertaking welding repairs, maintenance and inspection activities on heavy fixed plant and mobile equipment;
Previous experience in maintenance procedures within a workshop and/or heavy industrial environment;
Demonstrated experience with MMAW (stick), MIG and/or FCAW welding processes;
An understanding and appreciation of equipment functionality, service requirements and structural integrity;
Ability to interpret technical drawings, maintenance procedures and manufacturers' specifications;
Competent with the use of maintenance management software applications;
High attention to detail and an excellent work ethic;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to work in a team environment;
Safety-critical attitude to work
Ability to work irregular day/night shift engagements including weekends; and
Must hold or be eligible to qualify for an MSIC card.
