Fleet & Project Coordinator
The Fleet & Project Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the Air Operations and Ground Fleet within the Australian region. You will work closely with the Operations leadership team along with the Chief Report Pilot (CRP) to manage key duties including tracking availability of assets, including quantities and locations, overseeing regular maintenance schedules, coordinating inspections and activities to ensure compliance and serviceability. They monitor stock levels of essential parts and supplies, address issues with air systems and other critical components, and generate detailed reports on fleet performance and repair needs. Strong communication with field operators is essential, providing support, guidance, and updates to ensure smooth daily operations while maintaining operational standards. The roles will also drive project coordination and administration, supported by a dedicated Project Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
- Fleet & Asset Management: Oversee the operational readiness, maintenance, and repairs of UAS assets, ground support, and line stringing equipment across Australia; enforce asset management frameworks and regulatory compliance
- Project Planning & Tracking: Assist project managers in defining scope, schedules, deliverables, and budgets; systematically track project milestones, evaluate risks, and escalate issues.
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Deliver on-call and on-site troubleshooting for field operations, conduct root cause analyses on technical failures, and provide sales/marketing with accurate technical data sheets.
- Assembly, Manufacturing & Testing: Lead payload integration and assembly (utilizing 3D printing and outsourced manufacturing), manage spare parts inventory, and oversee testing/evaluations for continuous product improvement.
- Logistics & Resource Coordination: Organise equipment logistics, site transport, travel arrangements, and resource scheduling for operational field teams.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Engagement: Manage relationships with OEMs and suppliers for hardware sourcing, while facilitating client communications, project documentation, meeting agendas, and cross-team alignment.
Key Experience & Qualifications
- Education & Background: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or equivalent hands-on experience in drone fleet operations, equipment maintenance, or technical project support.
- Technical Expertise: Practical background in UAS hardware, transmission line stringing equipment, payload assembly, troubleshooting, mechanical/electrical maintenance, and manufacturing tools (e.g., 3D printing).
- Project Administration: Demonstrated ability to manage timelines including project schedules, track budgets, maintain thorough technical documentation, and utilise project management tools alongside Google Suite or MS Office.
- Communication & Organisation: Strong interpersonal skills to engage confidently with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders; highly organized with superior multitasking abilities.
