Remuneration: $41.22 - $57.88 per hour
Hours Per Week: 38 (Job share may be considered for part time hours)

What you'll be doing
The CALD MAPS model is a collaborative continuity of care model including midwives, obstetricians, endocrinologists and lactation consultants. Cultural safety will be paramount in this model, with targeted recruitment of midwives from a similar CALD background. The midwives recruited to this model will provide antenatal midwifery care aimed at optimising pregnancy. This is achieved through building relationships and trust which can lead to improved compliance with diabetes management, weight management, education specific to women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), preparation for pregnancy, labour and the immediate postnatal period including breastfeeding preparedness and education.

Deliver safe person centred culturally respectful care
Assess needs and make appropriate referrals to services
Support and mentor students and junior staff as required
Recognise clinical changes and escalate concerns promptly
Advocate for women families and carers across the service

  • Registration: Current Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife

Selection Criteria

  1. Previous relevant clinical experience in speciality.

  2. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work.

  3. Demonstrated effective communication skills both written and verbal.

  4. Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

  5. Commitment to continuing professional development.

  6. Effective interpersonal skills showing initiative and leadership to junior members of the team .
