Nursing Services oversee a range of professional issues including Professional Standards and codes of conduct, nursing research, scope of practice, quality systems relevant to nursing practice, education and training, and workforce development and sustainability. Nursing Services oversee the Nursing Education, Nursing Workforce and Nursing Quality teams. The Nursing Quality team consists of Nursing and Allied Health team members who work collaboratively to ensure patient care is evidence-based and patient-centred. The team support the delivery of safe, high-quality care informed by the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards, specifically Comprehensive Care, and the relevant Clinical Care Standards. The team have an integrated approach related to identifying patient needs and preventing harm related to falls, pressure injuries, nutrition, mental health and delirium/cognitive impairment. About the role Working within the Nursing Services team and the Alfred Health Falls Committee, this role will serve as a clinical specialist, leading and developing the clinical management of falls prevention and management through the coordination and support of a multi-faceted, evidence-informed and sustainable approach to preventing patient harm within Alfred Health. The role will develop, implement and evaluate education and quality improvement initiatives that serve to increase the capability and capacity of the clinical workforce. They will actively collaborate with existing clinical teams and within the organisation's governance framework to optimise patient outcomes.
