Contract Logistics Customer Onboarding Project Manager

The Contract Logistics Customer Onboarding Project Manager is responsible for managing customer and internal implementation projects from planning through to successful go live.

Working on behalf of the Project Sponsor, you'll coordinate cross-functional project teams, manage timelines, budgets, scope and risks, and ensure every implementation follows Kuehne+Nagel's customer onboarding methodology and Zero Failure processes.

You'll work closely with customers and stakeholders across Operations, IT, Engineering, Finance, Procurement and Commercial teams to ensure we deliver what has been promised, on time, within budget, and to the expected standard.

Responsibilities

Project Management

• Lead assigned customer onboarding and implementation projects from initiation through to operational handover.
• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, milestones and key deliverables.
• Manage project scope and scope changes, ensuring impacts are clearly understood and appropriately managed.
• Identify, assess and manage project risks, issues, dependencies and corrective actions.
• Ensure all project documentation is accurate, complete and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
  
  

Customer & Stakeholder Management

• Act as a key point of contact for customers throughout the onboarding process.
• Provide clear and timely project updates to internal and external stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships with project sponsors, operational teams and customer stakeholders.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across multiple functions and, where required, multiple countries.
• Proactively manage stakeholder expectations and resolve project issues before they impact delivery.
• Ensure customer requirements are understood and translated into clear operational deliverables.
  
  

Governance & Zero Failure

• Ensure all implementations follow Kuehne+Nagel's customer onboarding methodology and Zero Failure processes.
• Maintain accurate project information and status updates within the Project Management Tool.
• Monitor project performance against agreed scope, time, cost and quality requirements.
• Ensure commercial policies and global project standards are followed throughout the implementation.
• Escalate risks, deviations and critical decisions to the appropriate stakeholders.
  
  

People & Capability

• Support and coach project team members throughout the implementation lifecycle.
• Provide guidance and challenge to project teams to ensure strong project delivery.
• Contribute to developing project management capability across the wider organisation.
• Support training and development initiatives to strengthen project management skills and best practice.
  
  

Requirements

• 5+ years' experience of hands-on customer onboarding and project management experience within a Contract Logistics, Supply Chain or a related environment.
• Proven experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
• Strong understanding of project management principles, including scope, budget, timelines, risks and governance.
• Experience managing customer implementations, onboarding or operational transformation projects is highly desirable.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across different functions and levels of an organisation.
• Excellent customer-facing communication and presentation skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage project budgets and scope changes.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects or priorities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
