Contract: 12 months, from 21 September 2026 to 20 September 2027
Security clearance: Baseline

Pinaka Technology Solutions is seeking an experienced Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Practitioner to support a Department of Defence program delivering acquisition, introduction-into-service and sustainment outcomes for land and littoral manoeuvre capabilities. This opportunity is via a Defence Prime.

Working within a small project team, you will manage moderately complex ILS activities with a high degree of initiative and professional judgement. The position suits a practical logistics professional who understands Defence acquisition and sustainment environments and can work confidently with technical, commercial, military and industry stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage ILS deliverables, including NATO codification and cataloguing of items of supply within authorised logistics inventory management systems.
  • Identify supplier and repair pipelines and assist with establishing through-life support arrangements.
  • Develop, review and maintain technical and logistics documentation, including equipment schedules and repair parts schedules.
  • Complete logistics system transactions supporting the introduction, issue and sustainment of products and parts.
  • Prepare entitlement and provisioning documentation supporting direction of issue to user units.
  • Act as a key ILS point of contact across project teams, military units, Army Headquarters, Joint Logistics Command, commercial teams and industry partners.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and manage the timely delivery of ILS activities and artefacts.
  • Prepare and review ILS reports and supporting documentation.
  • Participate in acceptance testing, assess ILS-related test results and provide recommendations on the acceptability of outcomes.

Essential requirements

  • Demonstrated experience as an ILS Practitioner across the acquisition and sustainment phases of the capability lifecycle.
  • Experience supporting the introduction into service of Defence capabilities and associated Fundamental Inputs to Capability.
  • Sound understanding of Defence logistics policies, ILS management principles and materiel logistics practices.
  • Experience producing and maintaining technical, logistics, provisioning and sustainment documentation.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, written communication and verbal communication skills.
  • Certificate IV in Materiel Logistics or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Baseline security clearance. An active Baseline clearance is strongly preferred given the proposed commencement date.
  • Australian citizenship and the ability to satisfy applicable Defence security, confidentiality and US export-control or retransfer requirements.

Highly desirable

  • Recent experience in the Defence land domain.
  • Experience or knowledge of Army marine watercraft or littoral manoeuvre capabilities.
  • Experience with one or more of the following:

    • SAP S/4HANA
    • FEDLOG
    • MEMS
    • MCCAT
    • Objective
    • Microsoft Office
    • Defence logistics inventory management systems

Working arrangements

Delivery from Cairns is preferred, with access to relevant Defence facilities and systems provided subject to security requirements. Flexible working arrangements may be considered for a suitably qualified candidate.

The contractor will generally be responsible for travel, accommodation and meals associated with working in Cairns. Approved Defence-directed travel outside the Cairns region will be reimbursed in accordance with applicable arrangements.

How to apply

Please submit:

  • Your current CV.
  • A brief statement outlining your relevant ILS, acquisition, sustainment and introduction-into-service experience.
  • Your current security clearance status.

Applications will be reviewed as received, and the opportunity may close early once suitable candidates have been identified.
