Share a Walk, a Smile and a Little Greek Conversation, Residential Aged Care
Share a Walk, a Smile and a Little Greek Conversation

A friendly gentleman living in a residential aged care home in Hurstville would enjoy spending time with a Greek\-speaking volunteer who can share conversation, companionship and connection.

Having grown up in Greece and migrated to Australia in his 20s, he has lived a rich and interesting life. While dementia has made it harder for him to communicate in English, he remains warm, good\-natured and enjoys the comfort of hearing his first language spoken.

Your visits might include: Enjoying a stroll around the neighbourhood Playing simple games together Sharing stories and conversation in Greek Offering friendship and companionship This role would suit a patient, confident and compassionate volunteer who understands that meaningful connection comes in many forms, especially for someone living with dementia. A friendly face, a shared language and time spent together can help bring comfort, joy and a sense of belonging each week. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxFDDi9bS6c Thank you for expressing an interest in volunteering with HammondCare.
