Australia's superannuation industry is facing into a shifting landscape influenced by increased regulatory pressures, disruptive technologies, changes in demographics and ever-changing member expectations. Reporting to the Principal, AML/CTF & Fraud, the Analyst, AML/CTF & Fraud is a key member of AustralianSuper's Enterprise Compliance team, supporting the operation, monitoring and continuous improvement of the AML/CTF Program and fraud prevention activities.

Your New Role

In this 12-month contract as Analyst, AML/CTF & Fraud, you will support the identification, analysis and monitoring of AML/CTF obligations, controls and fraud prevention activities across the Fund. You will review transaction monitoring reports, support suspicious matter reporting, undertake enhanced customer due diligence reviews and help identify emerging fraud trends, anomalies and potential control gaps.

You will work closely with stakeholders across the Fund, contributing to reporting, remediation activities, registers, change management processes and the continued strengthening of AustralianSuper's AML/CTF and fraud control environment.

Key duties include but not limited to;

  • Support the identification and analysis of AML/CTF obligations and assist with updating relevant policies and procedures.

  • Support the documentation, testing and ongoing monitoring of AML/CTF controls.

  • Review and analyse transaction monitoring reports to identify suspicious matters.

  • Prepare Suspicious Matter Reports with AUSTRAC and supporting documentation for review.

  • Undertake Enhanced Customer Due Diligence reviews using established procedures and escalate complex or high-risk matters.

  • Analyse fraud data and identify emerging trends, anomalies and potential control gaps for escalation.

  • Participate in AustralianSuper's change management processes to identify changes in money laundering and terrorism financing risks associated with new, or changes to, products, services, delivery channels and business operations.

  • Prepare draft management reporting, insights and supporting materials for review.

What You'll Need

  • Hold an accreditation in Risk Management from a recognised body like Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA) or Governance Institute of Australia (GIA), or be willing to obtain one after joining AustralianSuper.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and translate external regulatory requirements to shape business outcomes.

  • An understanding of AML/CTF and Fraud, including the AML/CTF Act and the AML/CTF Rules.

  • Well-developed analytical and investigative skills, with high attention to detail.

  • Ability to work both autonomously and co-operatively with others, contributing effectively in a team environment.

  • Strong knowledge of financial services administration practices.

  • A continuous improvement mindset and a professional, collegiate and engaging approach to stakeholder engagement.

  • Tertiary qualifications in a business or related field such as Business, Management, Commerce, Finance, Accounting or Economics, together with compliance qualifications and RG 146 compliance, will be highly regarded.
