  • Remuneration: Level 9 $153,933 - $163,338 (depending on experience) + 17% super + leave loading

Why Your Role Matters:

The Senior Functional Business Analyst, People & Culture Systems is a senior specialist responsible for partnering with People & Culture, UNSW IT and external vendors to deliver functional HR technology solutions that support the University's people strategy.

As a functional subject matter expert for PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM), you will lead the analysis, configuration and enhancement of People & Culture systems. Experience with PeopleSoft Time & Labour and/or Global Payroll will be highly regarded, as you help deliver system improvements, support legislative and enterprise agreement compliance, and contribute to strategic HR technology initiatives that enhance the employee experience.

This is a fixed-term opportunity with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead functional analysis and solution design across PeopleSoft HCM and related People & Culture systems, translating complex business requirements into practical, scalable technology solutions.
  • Partner with People & Culture, Payroll, Digital Technology and vendors to understand business needs, resolve system challenges and deliver enhancements that improve employee experience and operational efficiency.
  • Drive system enhancements from discovery through to implementation, including requirements gathering, process mapping, functional specifications, configuration, testing, impact assessment and business readiness.
  • Provide functional expertise across PeopleSoft HCM, with opportunities to apply experience in areas such as Time & Labour and Global Payroll, while supporting system configuration, integrations, workflows and ongoing optimisation.
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities by simplifying processes, improving system functionality and exploring automation, AI-enabled technologies and other digital solutions where they add value.
  • Support secure and compliant HR technology solutions by ensuring system changes align with legislative, industrial, governance and University requirements.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and influence outcomes by facilitating workshops, navigating complex requirements and bringing together business and technical teams to deliver effective solutions.

Who You Are:

You are an experienced HRIS functional specialist with strong business analysis skills and experience working with PeopleSoft HCM. You are self-driven and enjoy partnering with stakeholders to improve business processes, solve complex system challenges and deliver practical technology solutions in a large, complex organisation.

You will bring:

  • Extensive experience supporting PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM).
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Time & Labour and/or Global Payroll is highly regarded.
  • Experience as a Functional Business Analyst, HRIS Consultant or HR Systems Specialist.
  • Strong business analysis, requirements gathering and functional solution design skills.
  • Experience with HRIS configuration, security and workflow administration.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience with HRIS upgrades, testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
