As a Clinical Midwife Consultant Grade 2, you will have the opportunity to influence service development, support clinical excellence, and drive positive outcomes for women, babies and families.

  • In this role, you will make a meaningful impact by providing highlevel clinical leadership and expert midwifery care outside standard hours.
  • Deliver safe, compassionate, highquality, personcentred specialist midwifery care to women, babies and families
  • Exercise extended autonomy in clinical decisionmaking, applying advanced knowledge and judgement in complex and dynamic situations
  • Collaborate closely with patients, families, carers and the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal clinical outcomes
  • Demonstrate expert clinical proficiency in evidencebased procedures, treatments and interventions within scope of practice

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). At least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field. In addition, the employee must have approved postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which the employee is appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
  • Detail how your skills and professional background align with the requirements of the role, emphasising the value you intend to bring to the role.
  • Describe a time you managed a complex or highrisk situation where you were required to use sound judgement, problemsolving and initiative to achieve a positive outcome
