Job Description:
This is a unique and specialised role that sits within our broader administrative team, with a primary focus on supporting the Breast Imaging service and procedures undertaken in our department.
This is not a standard receptionist position - we are looking for someone with a strong understanding of medical processes and a keen interest in breast care and imaging.
Role Overview
In this role, you will work closely with our Breast Radiologists and multidisciplinary team to coordinate and support breast imaging procedures, ensuring a seamless and compassionate patient experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Communicating and liaising closely with Breast Imaging doctors (Radiologists and Nuclear Medicine Physicians) regarding all breast procedures
- Communicating and liaising with the technical modality leads and nursing teams regarding breast procedures, to ensure that all aspects of the procedure are covered, such as consumables and appropriate staff are available.
- Coordinating patient imaging schedules and managing bookings for breast imaging procedures
- Liaising with surgeons' rooms to ensure all relevant requests and prior diagnostic studies are available in advance for review by Breast Imaging doctors.
- Ensuring requested amendments to the procedure are communicated to clinical staff in a timely manner.
- Acting as a key point of contact for patients throughout the imaging process, including explaining procedures and providing costing information.
- Ensuring all pre-booking checklists are completed accurately.
- Managing patient confirmations pre procedure, recalls where required and following up abnormal results
- Obtaining relevant external imaging for procedures and uploading to PACS for Radiologist review where possible

Previous medical experience (hospital or clinic setting)
Strong organisational and coordination skills
Excellent communication and patient care abilities
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Experience in women's health (highly regarded)
