Figtree High School is a large, co-educational comprehensive high school catering for approximately 900 students including 66 Aboriginal students and 170 students with a language other than English. Established in 1969, the school has a strong reputation for high-quality teaching, inclusive practice, and student success, and is deeply connected to its local community. 1. Proven ability to implement and lead curriculum delivery in Mathematics, including Stage 4, Stage 5 and Stage 6.
2. Demonstrated ability to guide curriculum development in Mathematics, while leading the effective use of formative and summative assessment and backward mapping to improve student outcomes, promote high expectations, support beginning teachers and encourage explicit future-focused practice.
3. Proven expertise in visible and proactive school leadership, working in successful collaboration with the executive to develop and support whole school priorities and initiatives in the School Excellence Plan. 4. Proven capacity to build positive relationships and engagement across the school community which helps to create a school culture of respect and excellence in learning.
