What you'll do:
We're seeking a Senior Materials Handling Engineer to join our Newcastle Mining team. This role is ideal for an experienced mechanical engineer with a strong background in bulk materials handling and a passion for delivering practical, fit-for-purpose solutions across the mining industry.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll contribute to the delivery of studies, design packages and project execution activities for clients across coal, metals and minerals projects throughout Australia.
Lead the design and delivery of bulk materials handling systems for mining projects
Develop engineering solutions for conveyors, transfer stations, crushers, feeders, bins, chutes and associated equipment
Prepare design calculations, specifications, technical reports and engineering documentation
Support project delivery across study, concept, detailed design and execution phases
Collaborate with mechanical, structural, electrical, process and civil engineering teams
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to developing engineers
Engage directly with clients, vendors and project stakeholders
Participate in site visits, inspections and commissioning support when required
About you:
You are a collaborative and technically capable engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering problems and building strong client relationships. You'll ideally bring:
Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
8+ years' experience in mining, minerals processing, bulk materials handling or heavy industry
Strong experience with bulk materials handling systems and equipment
Knowledge of conveyor systems, transfer chutes, feeders, crushers, bins and stockpile handling infrastructure
Experience delivering sustaining capital, brownfield or operational improvement projects
Strong understanding of Australian and industry engineering standards
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Chartered status or progression towards chartership will be highly regarded
