Job Overview:

Provide practical field operations support for Mount Gambier Agri-Tech by safely coordinating and undertaking farm-based activities across crop establishment & monitoring, irrigation, harvest support, equipment operation and routine maintenance.

The role, located in Mount Gambier, supports consistent crop quality, reliable field execution, accurate records and effective day-to-day coordination with farming and storage teams.


Responsibilities

  • Work safely at all times by completing pre-start checks, following PepsiCo and MGAT procedures and proactively identify and report hazards
  • Operate farm vehicles and equipment (tractors, forklifts, telehandlers, trucks) safely and within licence and competency requirements
  • Support all field operations including planting, irrigation, crop care, spraying, harvesting and post-harvest activities to meet seasonal priorities
  • Monitor crop, irrigation, pest, disease and quality conditions, promptly reporting issues and maintaining accurate operational records
  • Maintain equipment through routine inspections, cleaning, minor maintenance and ensure high housekeeping, biosecurity and environmental standards
  • Assist with labour coordination, inventory and materials management, while contributing to continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Current manual driver’s licence and experience operating farm equipment safely around mobile plant
  • Strong commitment to safety, food safety, environmental and biosecurity compliance
  • Mechanical aptitude with capability in equipment care, basic fault finding and minor repairs
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, maintain records and use basic Microsoft Office applications
  • Relevant licences, accreditations or experience (eg. HC/MC truck, forklift, telehandler, ChemCert, irrigation, horticulture or crop production)
  • Experience supporting seasonal workforces, contractors and time-critical field operations while complying with site biosecurity requirements (preferred)
  • Experience in crop operations / horticulture field operations preferred.
