This role will be responsible for supporting the Financial Accounting Manager in managing the financial accounting and controlling for all Wholesale, Diagnostic and Production operations Australia and New Zealand.
Responsibilities:
Offshoring Transition Support
- Lead the transition of selected finance processes to offshore teams
- Document end-to-end accounting processes and control frameworks
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training material
- Support knowledge transfer sessions and onboarding of offshore resources
- Monitor transition effectiveness and resolve process issues during stabilisation
- Act as the ANZ subject matter expert for transitioned processes
Financial Accounting and Controls
- Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
- Monitor intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Review journals, accruals, prepayments and accounting adjustments
- Assist in maintaining compliance with IFRS and Demant accounting policies
- Support internal control and audit requirements
- Responsible for Balance Sheet Recs
Business Improvement
- Identify process improvement and automation opportunities
- Support D365 and other finance transformation initiatives
- Assist with reporting standardisation across ANZ entities
- Help establish KPI monitoring for offshore performance
Stakeholder Management
- Partner with Finance Managers, FP&A and Shared Services teams
- Build strong working relationships with offshore counterparts
- Escalate risks impacting financial reporting quality or timelines
Other
- Be a Point of Contact for the Retail Clinics across Australia and New Zealand
- Coordinate the issuance of Bank Guarantees with Property Team and Bank and maintain the Bank Guarantee Register
- Other Ad-hoc tasks that may come up with relation to Clinic Governance and relationship
- Monthly review and commentary of specific P&L accounts related to the role
- Fulfil all audit requirements in a timely and accurate manner
- Respond to queries from Group, related to the Role
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Commerce majoring in accounting or similar - desired
- Professional Accounting Qualification (CA, CPA or equivalent)
Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proven ability to have partnered with the business on process improvements
- Proven ability to design and implement a strong controls environment
- Strong technical knowledge and implementation of current IFRS
- Strong time management, ability to prioritise and meet timelines under pressure, willing to work with the team to achieve deadlines where needed outside of normal duties
- Highly motivated proactive self-starter who demonstrates initiative and is able to work with minimal supervision
- Experience working in a fast paced, deadline focused, high volume role; multi-tasking with attention to detail
- Advanced Excel skills, including management and presentation of data, pivot tables, modelling for reporting and audit purposes, VLOOKUP's, Index Match and others
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experienced at financial and management report preparation and variance analysis
Knowledge:
- Highly developed IT skills, particularly in Excel and ERP systems
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred, but not essential
- Mastery of month-end close and reporting processes with subsidiaries in multi-national companies
- Technical knowledge and practical application of accounting standards
Experience:
- Significant demonstrated experience working in a similar role or higher; minimum 5+ years like for like experience
- Experience working in a complex Health or Retail environment
- Experience including exposure to cashiering, property leases
- Experience working for a subsidiary of a large multinational company
