The Senior Internal Communications Coordinator is part of the Qantas Group Internal Communications team, helping bring our employee communication strategy to life across channels, events and campaigns.
Working across a diverse range of projects, you'll create and publish content, support major employee events, and use insights and data to continually improve how we connect with our people. Your work will help more than 30,000 team members stay informed, connected and engaged with what's happening across the Group.
You'll also play an important role in strengthening our culture and bringing our Group Values to life through every communication, helping employees feel proud to be part of the Spirit of Australia. You'll also play an important role in managing relationships with our communications platform partners, helping ensure our channels are running effectively and continually evolving to meet employee needs.
This is a hands-on role at the heart of a busy, high-performing team. Success comes from being adaptable, taking initiative and being willing to jump in wherever needed, whether that's coordinating an event, publishing content, solving a channel issue or supporting a major communication campaign.

You'll have -
- Minimum 2 years communications experience in a large corporate or agency.
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism or a related discipline.
- Strong writing, proofing and content-coordination skills, with experience producing content for large internal audiences.
- Experience managing internal communication channels such as intranets, digital signage, newsletters and internal social platforms.
- Editorial experience, including planning, commissioning and scheduling content to deadline.
- Experience coordinating the logistics for events such as Town Halls, webinars and roadshows.
- Ability to read channel and content data and turn it into clear, useful reporting and recommendations.
- Demonstrated relationship building with stakeholders at a variety of levels with competing priorities.
- Ability to understand and communicate complex business, legal, regulatory and technical issues clearly and accurately.
- Proven time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong general digital skills, including confidence with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, basic design, and uploading and publishing content to internal channels.
- Sound IT problem-solving instincts and a willingness to learn new tools and troubleshoot day-to-day platform issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and internal communication platforms, with the ability to learn new tools quickly.
- Good judgement, initiative and a proactive, curious approach.
- A flexible, hands-on attitude and a willingness to turn a hand to whatever the day needs, from channel publishing to supporting events on the ground.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and tact at all times.
- Ability to contribute to the overall effectiveness of the team and department.
