Senior HSE Advisor
UGL's Telecommunications business is seeking an experienced Senior HSE Advisor to provide leadership across a national portfolio of telecommunications projects and programs. This opportunity has become available through an internal promotion and combines operational HSE leadership with the mentorship and development of a team of HSE Advisors.
Working closely with operational leaders, you will drive consistency across HSE systems, provide technical guidance on high-risk activities, and support a strong safety culture across geographically dispersed projects.
This position is ideally based from our Tullamarine (Melbourne) office, however Brisbane will be considered for the right candidate. Regular travel to metropolitan, regional and remote project sites is required.
What you'll be doing
Lead and develop a team of HSE Advisors, providing coaching, technical guidance and support across a national telecommunications portfolio.
Drive consistency and quality across HSE systems, documentation, risk management processes and compliance activities.
Act as the senior escalation point for high-risk activities, critical risk management and complex incident investigations.
Partner with operational leaders to strengthen safety culture, improve performance and deliver business outcomes.
Maintain an active field presence through site visits, audits and engagement with project teams across metropolitan, regional and remote locations.
About You
Minimum 8 years' HSE experience within telecommunications, construction, utilities or other high-risk industries.
Demonstrated leadership experience mentoring, coaching or managing HSE professionals.
Strong knowledge of HSE management systems, risk management and legislative compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Lead Auditor and ICAM/RCA investigation experience, with a proven ability to drive continuous improvement.
Diploma (or higher) in Work Health & Safety, Construction White Card and current Australian Driver's Licence.
