Job Description
Epworth Richmond Acute is seeking a Casual Grade 2 Social Worker to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple Epworth sites, including Epworth Richmond, Epworth Freemasons and Epworth Rehabilitation.
As part of our casual workforce, you will provide flexible support during periods of increased service demand and fluctuating workloads. Your contribution will help ensure timely assessment, intervention and follow-up care, while reducing patient wait times and maintaining high-quality patient outcomes.
In this Grade 2 clinical Social Work position, you will deliver patient-centred social work services across acute hospital settings at Epworth Richmond and Epworth Freemasons (East Melbourne). You will also support Continuing Care services across Epworth Hawthorn, Camberwell and Richmond, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care to patients and their families.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and adaptable Social Worker seeking a flexible role across a variety of clinical settings within Epworth HealthCare.
You will manage an independent and varied clinical caseload, with exposure to:
- Medical and surgical patients
- Oncology
- Critical care
- Brain injury
- Multi trauma
- Rehabilitation and complex care
- Aged Care
You will work within a small, enthusiastic and cohesive Social Work team, contributing to highquality care for some of our most vulnerable patients.
You will make an impact by:
- Providing independent, evidencebased psychosocial assessment and intervention
- Undertaking comprehensive discharge planning and contribute to optimal patient flow
- Identifying and manage psychosocial risk, ensuring safe and effective practice
- Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness in a dynamic acutecare environment
- Contributing positively to team culture, quality activities and service improvement
You are a capable and confident Social Worker with experience in hospitalbased practice who is comfortable managing a clinical caseload.
You are adaptable, professional and regularly available for weekday casual shifts, responding to prevailing clinical demand.

Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master of Social Work
- Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Demonstrated experience in an acute hospital and/or rehabilitation setting
- Experience working with complex patients and families
- Strong communication, assessment and organisational skills
