Location: Brisbane Square Our Business City Planning and Economic Development Services is responsible for supporting local businesses, facilitating economic growth, planning for sustainable growth and delivering permitting services. Our Branch Development Services facilitates high-quality, sustainable development outcomes for Brisbane, through efficient and professional development assessment and management processes, systems and practices. The Role The Team Manager, Building and Construction Management Team (BCMT) is responsible for leading two specialist teams that support the successful delivery of development outcomes across Brisbane. The role provides leadership, strategic oversight and operational management of: Building and Construction Liaison Team - partnering with the development industry to drive timely progression of construction sites in line with relevant approvals, permits and community expectations. Plan Sealing Coordination Team - coordinating and managing the assessment and decision-making process for plan sealing applications to ensure timely, compliant and customer-focused outcomes. The position plays a critical role in supporting Council's development objectives by balancing efficient development delivery with community expectations, legislative requirements and organisational goals. To be successful you will have: Expert knowledge of the application of lawful approvals and conditions packages to the construction phase of the development cycle. High level, demonstrated experience in plan sealing processes Proven experience leading a customerfocused approach in a large or complex organisations Proven ability to build relationships, influence others and make decisions in complex situations Highlevel skills in negotiation, influencing and resolving issues between different parties. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex or technical information clearly Strong people leadership skills, including setting direction, supporting staff and monitoring performance.
