The role The primary focus will be coordinating the planning and implementation of bus stop and street closures for low to medium-risk projects, while providing operational planning support to the Network Coordination Centre (NCC). You will work across multiple teams to ensure service continuity, effective communication and successful delivery of network initiatives. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safe and efficient management of bus stop closures, route diversions and temporary network changes arising from planned events, infrastructure projects and reactive incidents. Key responsibilities Coordinate planned and unplanned route diversions resulting from events, incidents and infrastructure projects. Lead the planning and implementation of temporary network changes to support city events and operational projects. Manage bus stop closure planning and associated stakeholder engagement activities. Coordinate local depot support officers to deliver regional network projects, including passenger communications and route assessments. Support Network Coordination Team Leaders during major planned events and operational activities. Develop and distribute high-quality staff alerts, customer notices and operational communications. Work closely with the Congestion Reduction Unit (CRU) to coordinate bus stop closures and service diversions associated with road closure permits. Utilise mapping and traffic management software to prepare plans, assessments and operational documentation. To be successful, you will demonstrate: Experience coordinating operational planning activities, including route diversions, bus stop closures and network responses for planned and unplanned events. Knowledge of public transport operational processes and the factors influencing network performance. The ability to coordinate and provide direction to staff to achieve project objectives and service outcomes. Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build productive working relationships across multiple teams and external organisations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of operational reports, passenger communications and staff notices. Well-developed problem-solving, negotiation and decision-making skills, particularly when responding to time-sensitive operational challenges. Experience working collaboratively within a high-performing team environment, with a commitment to feedback, continuous improvement and shared success. Competency in using mapping, planning or traffic-related software applications.
