Teach Starter, part of Tes, is looking for a Literacy Curriculum Specialist (Foundation-Year 2 English) to join our Content Team. Internally known as a Content Producer, this is a unique opportunity to take your expertise beyond the classroom and influence the learning experiences of thousands of students and teachers.
As our Foundation-Year 2 English specialist, you'll create, curate and enhance high-quality educational resources that support young learners as they develop the foundational skills needed to become confident readers, writers, speakers and listeners.

What You'll Do
- Develop and review engaging, curriculum-aligned English resources for Foundation-Year 2 students.
- Create high-quality teaching materials that support early literacy and foundational language development.
- Identify gaps and opportunities within our resource library and develop new content to meet educator needs.
- Review and enhance existing resources to ensure they remain relevant, accurate and impactful.
- Collaborate with content specialists, graphic designers and freelance contributors to bring resource concepts to life.
- Ensure all resources are inclusive, differentiated and accessible for diverse learners.
- Stay up to date with curriculum developments, educational research and emerging literacy trends.
- Use teacher feedback, research and data insights to continuously improve content quality and effectiveness.
About You
You'll be an experienced educator who understands what great literacy instruction looks like and is passionate about supporting teachers through high-quality educational content.
You'll bring:
- 5+ years' experience teaching in primary education, with significant experience teaching English across Foundation-Year 2.
- Deep knowledge of early literacy development, foundational language skills and evidence-based literacy practices.
- Strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum and its classroom application.
- Experience creating, adapting or reviewing teaching and learning resources.
- Exceptional written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A collaborative mindset and genuine passion for improving outcomes for teachers and students.
Highly Regarded
- Curriculum writing, educational publishing or instructional design experience.
- Experience creating digital learning resources.
- Knowledge of SEO and digital publishing practices.
- Experience with content management systems (CMS).
- Experience working with freelance contributors or cross-functional teams.
