An exciting opportunity for an experienced Neurology Registered Nurse to provide clinical expertise in the role of Stroke Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC).

The CNC attends stroke pages to assist in rapid assessment and care coordination, assists in providing thrombolysis and post thrombolysis care to acute stroke patients, and closely collaborates with the interventional neuroradiology team for Endovascular Clot Retrieval.

The role is full time for 12 months, commencing December 2026.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Registered with Authority to Practice with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Minimum seven years full time post graduate experience with 5 years full time equivalent in the specialty field. In addition the applicant must have an approved post graduate qualification and/or Masters level relevant to the specialty or evidence of working towards same in identified area of specialty.
  2. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both as a member of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
