Reporting to the Finance Manager, this is an integral role supporting the effective financial management and accountability of our health service. About the Role As our Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and lodgement requirements are met. Key responsibilities will include: Preparing and uploading end-of-month accounting entries and adjustments. Completing monthly reconciliations of balance sheets and subsidiary ledgers. Maintaining the asset register to support depreciation, asset management and capital planning. Supporting payroll processes when required. Participating in annual internal and external audit processes. Ensuring appropriate systems, controls and documentation are maintained to support strong financial governance. Contributing to continuous improvement and best-practice financial processes. Providing support and backup to other members of the Finance team as required. About You We are looking for an accountant who is technically capable, organised and enjoys working collaboratively in a busy environment. You will bring: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Demonstrated experience working within accounting principles, standards and professional guidelines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities. Strong Microsoft Office skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team. A commitment to continuous improvement and strong financial practices. A demonstrated commitment to the values of Mansfield District Hospital. Experience in public health and/or residential aged care will be highly regarded, as will experience with Oracle Financial Management Information Systems and/or Magiq Cloud.
