Australia Expansion Fellowship
About the Australia Team
Zipline is building its presence in Australia, and we are looking for an exceptional student or recent graduate to join the team as a part-time Australia Expansion Fellow.
The Australia team is responsible for developing the partnerships, market strategy and operations required to bring Zipline's autonomous logistics system to communities across the country. This means working at the intersection of business, government, technology and community to understand where Zipline can have the greatest impact and what it will take to get there.
The Role
As an Australia Expansion Fellow, you will work directly with Zipline's Head of Australia on our community engagement strategy.
This is a hands-on role. You'll spend time with our local leadership out in the community, meeting residents, businesses and community organisations, listening to their perspectives and ensuring questions and concerns are addressed. You will help translate our exciting but unfamiliar technology into clear, credible and locally relevant conversations. Success means communities hear from Zipline early, have meaningful opportunities to engage with us, and see the benefits of having Zipline operate in their community.
The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, an excellent communicator, and highly attuned to community sentiment.
What You'll Do
- Build relationships with residents, community groups, elected officials, local businesses and environmental organisations
- Engage local influencers, community publishers and social media group administrators
- Organise community briefings, listening sessions, demonstrations, open days and retailer events
- Explain Zipline's technology clearly and credibly, including addressing concerns such as noise and safety
- Monitor community sentiment and identify emerging concerns early
- Manage stakeholder outreach, follow-ups and the community CRM
- Bring community feedback back into Zipline and help teams respond to what we hear
- Represent Zipline at local meetings, events and community forums
What You'll Bring
- Experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, public affairs or a related field
- A strong track record of building trusted relationships with local communities
- Excellent communication, listening and relationship-building skills
- Confidence engaging with everyone from residents and small-business owners to councillors and MPs
- The ability to explain complex or technical topics simply
- Good judgement and confidence in handling challenging questions or concerns
- Ability to take ownership of ambiguous problems and work independently
- Knowledge of the Central Coast and Lake Macquarie regions would be a significant advantage
- A practical, energetic approach and willingness to spend time out in the community, including some evenings and events
- Genuine interest in Zipline's mission and a passionate belief in the benefits our drone delivery technology can bring to communities
