About the role
The Midwifery Unit Manager for Maternity Community and Continuity Services (MCoC) for Byron, Murwillumbah and Tweed Hospitals is responsible for the efficient management of the MCoC midwives and other relevant staff under their delegation and coordination of the provision of midwifery care. Providing operational and professional support for the MCoC midwives and ensuring effective liaison between the Northern New South Wales Local Health District (NNSWLHD) maternity team and related health professionals. Responsible for facilitating the work health and safety considerations for all MCoC clinicians are met.
Clinician engagement and leadership has been a prominent feature of the public health system for a number of years, where clinician led clinical standards, safety and quality improvements have become a major focus. The Local Health District (LHD) is committed to the strengthening of clinician engagement in the care planning, delivery, improvement and evaluation of the care provided to women and newborns in each Maternity Health service.
