Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Provide technical guidance and innovation for the timely resolution of queries and issues.
  • Design, develop, and implement engineering solutions, ensuring technical accuracy and quality

  • Identify the learning and development needs for yourself and mentor less experienced team members to ensure a high level of technical capability.

  • Effective implementation of discipline engineering standards and technical documentation

  • Certify schemes as a registered professional engineer as required

  • Support team members and work collaboratively to contribute to achieving the team's objectives

  • Enhance the discipline capability through improving existing processes, and staying updated with industry trends

  • Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding and implementing workplace health and safety obligations

  • Support and comply with Company policies and procedures as advised and documented in the Company's employment policies as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers/Supervisors

  • In addition to the duties set out above, the Senior Engineers may be expected to perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Company

Person Specification

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Ability to assess complex situations and develop practical solutions

  • An innovative mindset

  • Interest in and ability to continue personal leadership growth

  • Excellent verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with others

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in a nominated engineering discipline with eligibility for member status of Professional Engineer of Engineers Australia.

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in the nominated engineering discipline

  • Understanding of safety principles in design with a core emphasis on effective risk management

  • Experience with heavy industry (e.g., mining, power generation, oil & gas) would be an advantage

  • Experience facilitating design and project reviews, including HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA and safety reviews desirable
