About the role
This role plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic and pedestrians across the City of Parramatta LGA. You'll apply your technical expertise, regulatory knowledge and stakeholder engagement skills to deliver highquality traffic and transport outcomes that support Council's strategic objectives and statutory obligations.

In this role you will:

  • Process traffic and transport service requests and process relevant permits.
  • Provide technical advice and prepare highquality reports and correspondence for complex, sensitive and multidisciplinary traffic projects.
  • Prepare plans using AutoCAD and issue instructions for traffic signage and line marking.
  • Deliver innovative and effective traffic solutions aligned with Council strategies, legislation and community expectations.
  • Represent Council in key forums, including the Transport Forum, Community drop-in session.
  • Identify, initiate and support traffic and transport projects in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to staff, stakeholders and the community.
  • Integrate traffic and transport considerations with planning, urban design, environmental, heritage, social and economic objectives.

We offer a competitive remuneration package from $108,795.03 to $119,781.85 plus 12% superannuation.

About you
If you are passionate about delivering practical, evidencebased solutions, building strong stakeholder relationships, and integrating transport outcomes with broader city objectives, this role provides an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to a diverse and growing community.

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interpret and translate technical information for stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Proven experience delivering effective and innovative traffic and transport outcomes, ideally within or in partnership with the public sector.


To be considered for this role, you must meet the essential requirements in the Position Description, including the below Qualifications/Licences:

  • Tertiary qualification in traffic or civil engineering
  • Class C Driver's License
