Research Assistant/Research Officer

The Opportunity

The Early Neurodevelopment and Mental Health team is focused onpreventing childhood mental illness and optimising children's development andwellbeing in the first years of their life. We are interested in understandingand identifying the factors that contribute to difficulties in mental healthand development, as well as developing cost-effective prevention and earlyintervention approaches for addressing developmental needs and promotingresilience.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a casual ResearchAssistant or Research Officer (level dependent on experience) to support our research,through a project on physical activity in young people living with chronichealth conditions.

Key responsibilities:

• Undertake literature reviews to support projects.
  
• Assist with data collection, data entry and data analysis of results and findings.
  
• Contribute to the translation of research outputs for non-scientific audiences.
  
• Assist in preparing dissemination of research outputs through journal articles, presentations, etc.
  
• Coordinate and support consumer engagement activities.
  

Based in our offices within Perth Children's Hospital in Nedlands,this casual position will be offered for a 6-month period.

About You

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree inpsychology, health sciences, exercise science, or other relevant areas ofstudy. You will also demonstrate:

• Understanding and experience in undertaking research projects and/or project coordination in a relevant discipline (e.g., psychology, health sciences).
  
• Interest in physical activity and health behaviour change, and chronic and rare disease research.
  
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  
• Analytical, conceptual, and pragmatic problem-solving skills.
  
• Good time management skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
