The Role

Support the investment and portfolio management operations of the IFM Debt Investments team - focussing on securitisation and structured finance investment strategies.

Key responsibilities:

  • Origination, structuring, credit analysis/due diligence of a diversified range of debt investment opportunities with specific emphasis on securitisation and structured finance investments (public RMBS/ABS, private placements, warehouses, borrowing base and other asset-based lending structures)
  • Preparation and presentation of credit memorandum/investment proposal to IFM Debt Investment Committee
  • End-to-end transaction management including working with borrowers/issuers, arrangers, advisors and legal counsel through to financial close
  • Delivery of ad-hoc presentations to investors (e.g. deal specific summaries, industry research, portfolio data and modelling)

Your Background and Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Economics, Commerce, or Accounting
  • CFA or studying towards CFA/FINSIA or CA/CPA or other post graduate qualifications (viewed favourably)
  • Strong credit analysis experience with a focus on securitisation/structured finance
  • Strong understanding of structured finance transaction documentation
  • Strong cashflow modelling capability
  • Demonstrated transaction management experience on a reasonably autonomous basis
  • Minimum of 5-7 years directly relevant credit and debt transaction management experience
  • Sound understanding of core rating methodologies with an emphasis on RMBS and ABS criteria
