The Respiratory ward at Royal North Shore Hospital is seeking Assistants in Nursing to join their team.

8C is an 18 bed unit that caters for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including those requiring close monitoring and additional interventions such as Non-Invasive Ventilation and High-Flow Oxygen therapy. Excellent learning opportunities for staff to improve clinical skills and learn advance skills such as all aspects of Non-invasive ventilation and care of patients with Tracheostomies. The Ward is supported by enthusiastic nursing staff, a variety of allied health professionals, a Respiratory Clinical Nurse Consultant, and a Ward Based Clinical Nurse Educator.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Currently enrolled in second or third year of a Bachelor of Nursing or degree deemed appropriate; or current enrolment in Diploma of Nursing (HLT54121) with evidence of completion of Block 1; or completion of HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assisting in Nursing Work in Acute Care).
  2. Demonstrated, effective written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
