Job description:

Maintain the efficient operation of the Pool Office, this will include coordination of the daily allocation of staffing replacement for Hospitals North/North West, Launceston General Hospital (LGH) nursing and ancillary staff. As a team member of the Pool Office actively support the delivery of a comprehensive range of administrative and service operations functions which facilitate the efficient operation of the office.

The Team

The Pool Office Team, Launceston General Hospital employs nurses, midwives, assistants in nursing, care assistants ward clerks and hospital aides to provide back fill for deficits across Hospitals North. The team consists of nurses and staffing support officers who work closely together to recruit, employ and support staff to function at a high standard when allocated across the organisation.

The Role

  • This role supports efficient operation of the Pool Office to co-ordinate daily allocation of suitably prepared staff across the organisation.
  • This position would suit applicants who enjoy working under pressure across various roles within the office in an environment of frequently changing priorities.
  • It is a diverse role supporting recruitment processes, reception, daily staff allocation, employee bookings and payroll requirements. The role requires a general understanding of the practical application of Employment Awards and Directions.

You will need

  • Demonstrated high level skills in areas such as administration, reception, data bases, rostering and staffing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to supportively solve problems with efficiency and empathy.
  • A high level of attention to detail

Details of appointment

  • Permanent part time, shift worker position, working 48 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed upon date. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$68,854 to $73,947 per annum (pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025.
