This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Investor Relations Expert based in Australia.

This is an opportunity for an experienced public-company investor relations professional to apply their expertise to realistic, high-impact IR work products. You will work from mock financial and shareholder materials to develop deliverables that reflect the standards expected during critical corporate communications cycles. Your work will span earnings communications, guidance, investor presentations, shareholder analysis, and capital allocation recommendations. The role requires strong judgment, financial fluency, and the ability to turn complex information into clear messaging for investors and analysts. You will work independently on structured assignments that are assessed against defined quality standards. This is particularly suited to professionals who have directly owned public-company earnings cycles and understand the demands of modern investor relations.

Accountabilities

  • Develop earnings releases, prepared remarks, and Q&A briefings based on quarterly results materials.
  • Produce guidance-setting and guidance-revision recommendations supported by relevant scenarios, financial analysis, and investor considerations.
  • Create investor day materials, investor relations presentations, equity story and positioning decks, AGM materials, and deal announcement packages.
  • Analyze shareholder registers and ownership structures to identify trends, concentration, and relevant investor dynamics.
  • Assess potential activist vulnerability and develop clear, evidence-based recommendations for addressing shareholder concerns and risks.
  • Develop recommendations relating to dividends, capital returns, and broader shareholder value considerations.
  • Review mock results packs, shareholder registers, analyst models, and other source materials to identify relevant insights and translate them into polished IR deliverables.
  • Apply strong investor relations judgment to ensure communications are accurate, consistent, strategically positioned, and appropriate for public-market audiences.
  • Complete structured assessments and deliverables against defined quality standards and rubrics.
  • Demonstrate the ability to distinguish public-company investor relations from private equity or venture capital investor relations, which typically focuses on LP fundraising.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional experience in an in-house investor relations role at a publicly traded company.
  • Demonstrated direct ownership of a public-company earnings cycle, including preparation of earnings releases, management scripts, Q&A materials, and analyst or investor engagement.
  • Strong understanding of public markets, shareholder communications, investor expectations, and corporate positioning.
  • Ability to analyze financial and shareholder information and turn it into concise, commercially relevant recommendations.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce polished investor-facing materials that are clear, precise, and strategically aligned.
  • Strong analytical judgment and attention to detail, particularly when working with financial results, shareholder data, and corporate communications.
  • Ability to work independently with structured source materials and deliver high-quality work against defined expectations.
  • Strong understanding of the distinction between public-company IR and investor relations activities within private equity or venture capital environments.
  • An IRC charter from NIRI is a plus.
  • Previous sell-side equity research experience before transitioning into an in-house IR role is advantageous.
  • Investor relations agency experience is also beneficial.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to apply deep public-company investor relations expertise to realistic, professionally relevant assignments.
  • Flexible opportunity designed for experienced IR professionals.
  • Exposure to a broad range of investor relations deliverables, including earnings communications, guidance, investor days, AGMs, shareholder analysis, and capital allocation.
  • Opportunity to demonstrate expertise through practical, self-contained assignments rather than relying solely on traditional interviews.
  • Structured evaluation based on clearly defined quality standards and rubrics.
  • Potential for additional project opportunities based on performance and expertise.
  • Opportunity to contribute specialized knowledge to high-quality financial and investor relations work products.
