About the Role
Community Mental Health Services provide a range of services designed to help support the recovery and help consumer stay well in the community. The team provide specialist services for young people, children and families, adults, and older people. Community mental health services include a specialist Aboriginal Mental Health Team, bilingual mental health workers and Peer Support Workers. Our main sites are at Canterbury, Croydon, Camperdown, Marrickville, and Redfern Community Health Services. The role will be based at Croydon.

Provide clinical psychology services to and clinical leadership within psychology. Provide quality consumer-focused, evidence-based psychological services to patients/clients and carers in order to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes for the patients/clients of the service.

Ideal Candidate

  • Current registration with AHPRA and must hold a post graduate degree in clinical psychology (Masters, and/or Doctorate or PhD) that provides eligibility for full membership of the APS and ACPA.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge, skill and clinical experience in the provision of clinical psychology interventions, demonstrated knowledge and skills in the use of therapies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Insight Oriented Psychotherapy. Demonstrated skills in working with families.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability in building and maintaining professional and therapeutic relationships through the application of written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
