About the Opportunity
SWSLHD is recognised as a leading provider of education, training, and organisational development initiatives to a health workforce of over 16,000 staff. Our Education and Organisational Development Service (EODS) supports the achievement of the LHDs strategic goals, with a focus on supporting our staff to positively transform how our patients and communities experience our organisation and services.
The Staff Experience Lead is a new role that has been established to drive SWSLHD's commitment to being a great place to work for people who are seeking to provide safe, sustainable care for healthier communities. It forms part of the District's Organisational Development, Culture and Diversity (ODCD) team - a highly collaborative business unit devoted to working with, and through, SWSLHD's leaders to develop the capabilities, mindsets and behaviours that enable high performance.

What You'll be Doing
The primary purpose of this role is to develop a deep understanding of how our staff experience different stages of the employee lifecycle, and lead strategic initiatives designed to improve staff experience in a way that aligns with our Strategic Plan, Workforce Plan and relevant divisional strategies such as our Leadership Strategy, Innovation Strategy and Culture Roadmap.
The Staff Experience Lead will also be required to provide advice and support to improvement projects being run across the ODCD team to ensure alignment between how we develop our leaders, the cultural expectations we set and the way we translate this into positive experiences across the employee lifecycle. We do this to create a workplace in which people are encouraged and enabled to work Better Together so that they may lead the provision of safe, sustainable care for healthier communities.
In short - if you are a problem solver who loves leading collaborative projects with a diverse array of stakeholders to drive process improvements and create great places to work, this may just be the job for you!

Where You'll Be Working
This is a District-wide role, meaning that you'll primarily be based at the Ngara Education Centre at Liverpool Hospital Eastern Campus but will be required to travel across our major sites and services across South Western Sydney, including but not limited to Liverpool, Fairfield, Campbelltown, Camden, Bankstown-Lidcombe and Bowral Hospitals. Flexible work options are available, with the opportunity to work up to two days a week from home (subject to the needs of the business) and the option to work across sites other than your own office where hot desks are available.
Please note: Because this is a District-wide role and your home office is Ngara Education Centre this position requires a current, unrestricted Australian driver's license (P2 License Acceptable) and a current Working With Children Check (WWCC).

To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, organisational development, leadership, psychology, human resources management or related field and/or demonstrated equivalent experience in the application of these practices at a system level in a large and complex organisation.
  • Strong understanding of the interdependencies between leadership, culture and performance, and how to drive increased organisational performance through strategic People & Culture interventions.
  • Demonstrated experience applying design thinking and human-centered design methodologies to drive positive project outcomes, meaningful stakeholder engagement and efficient, effective project delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships across multiple levels of large, complex organisations to generate buy-in for, and sustainability of, organisational change.
  • High-level facilitation and coaching skills with well-developed communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.

**Please note: All candidates that progress to the interview stage will be required to provide a 10-minute presentation showcasing a program or project they led to design and improve staff experience across one or more parts of the employee lifecycle.
