What you'll be doing
As an Operations Assistant, you will support medical and nursing staff in the delivery of high-quality patient care across the Operating Suites, Recovery and High Dependency Units. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, takes pride in delivering excellent service and demonstrates empathy and respect for patients.

  • Safely transfer, position and transport patients throughout the Operating Suites, Recovery and High Dependency Units

  • Provide compassionate support to patients who may be physically, emotionally or mentally distressed

  • Prepare, clean and maintain operating rooms and clinical areas to support safe patient care

  • Deliver and manage surgical instruments, equipment and positioning devices required for procedures

  • Operate industrial equipment and cleaning chemicals in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements while responding promptly to changing clinical priorities

  1. Ability to demonstrate experience in patient transportation and positioning within an Operating Suite and ability to adapt to the demands of a Perioperative environment.

  2. Sound knowledge of Operating Suite equipment and maintenance.

  3. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety and Manual handling principles and requirements.

  4. Proven ability to communicate with a variety of patients, staff, and managers.

  5. Demonstrated experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
