Join the Hamilton Island Learning & Development team as a Learning & Development Advisor, where you'll play a key role in the strategic and day-to-day operations of Hamilton Island College. Working closely with the Learning & Development Director, you'll help deliver high-quality learning programs, oversee compliance initiatives, support apprenticeships and onboarding, and build effective partnerships with training providers.

Where you'll make an impact

  • Partner with the Learning & Development Director to develop and implement Hamilton Island College strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Support the design and continuous improvement of training initiatives, compliance programs and partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)
  • Oversee the operational requirements of Hamilton Island College, including scheduling, facilities, resources, room bookings and training logistics
  • Manage relationships with RTOs and other training providers, ensuring quality and compliance
  • Coordinate apprenticeship programs, including enrolments, government agency liaison, wage subsidies and ongoing apprentice support
  • Monitor employee licences, qualifications and training requirements, providing clear compliance reporting and proactively addressing gaps
  • Oversee and deliver employee onboarding, creating a welcoming and seamless introduction to Hamilton Island
  • Support, coach and develop Learning & Development Coordinators, helping foster a collaborative and high-performing team
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and work across departments to improve processes and learning outcomes
  • Provide regular insights and recommendations on program performance, team achievements and opportunities for improvement
  • Support cross-functional projects and initiatives that contribute to Hamilton Island's broader organisational priorities

What we're looking for

You're an organised, approachable and solutions-focused professional who enjoys helping people succeed and making things happen behind the scenes.

You bring experience in Human Resources, administration, onboarding or a related environment, along with strong communication and organisational skills. You're comfortable balancing competing priorities, building relationships with stakeholders and maintaining accurate records, while providing a warm and welcoming experience for employees.

Whether you're coordinating a training program, supporting a new employee through onboarding, working with an external training provider or helping the team address a compliance requirement, you bring attention to detail, adaptability and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement.

To be successful, you'll need

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Human Resources, Administration or Onboarding-related role (Essential)
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint (Essential)
  • Current Open QLD Driver Licence (Essential)
  • Certificate IV or higher in Business, Human Resources or Training & Assessment (Desirable)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • A customer service focus with a warm and welcoming approach
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality
  • A solutions-focused and adaptable approach in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional presentation and alignment with Hamilton Island standards and values
