About the role
Based within the City Tree Management team, this position offers an exciting opportunity to step into a frontline team leader role. You will drive the day-to-day operations of a small field team, ensuring works are completed effectively, resources are managed efficiently, and all administrative and digital reporting requirements are met.
In this role you will:
- Carry out horticultural & arboriculture activities to ensure the City of Parramatta's parks are presented to the highest standards.
- Make decisions and implement work practices in line with best practices of the Horticulture/Arboriculture/Greenkeeping, trade and industry.
- Mentor staff within the team and undertake on-the-job training for the team.
- Undertake the day-to-day management of staff and their assigned tasks.
- Adapt to changing priorities and undertake other tasks as directed, to assist other teams and operational areas, particularly in wet weather or other emergencies to meet community needs.

We offer a competitive annual salary from $81,327 to $89,563 plus 12% superannuation.
This position will attract allowances in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023, this could include the Adverse Working Conditions Allowance.

About you
We are looking for someone who brings previous experience in leading teams, particularly in arboriculture services. As the team leader you will be responsible for overseeing team operations, assigning tasks, planning of works, establishing goals, encouraging open communication and be able to distribute information amongst the team.

Essential:
To be considered for this role, you must also meet the essential requirements in the Position Description, including the below Qualifications/Licences:
- Minimum certificate III qualification in Horticulture, relevant to position/area of specialisation (arboriculture).
- Certificate I and II in Chainsaw Operations
- Hold a current NSW MR Driver's License
- Construction Induction White Card
