Maintenance Supervisor

Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your leadership and maintenance expertise in the fast-paced world of light rail. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll lead a team of skilled technicians to deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality maintenance outcomes across the Sydney Light Rail Fleet, based in Lilyfield NSW. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll work closely with Engineering, Quality and Operations teams to drive fleet performance, safety, and continuous improvement. You will also be required to participate in a rotating roster, which includes morning shifts and night shifts across weekdays and weekends. We'll look to you to:
- Lead and coordinate planned and corrective maintenance activities across the fleet.
- Maximise team and resource utilisation to achieve contractual and operational targets.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality and maintenance standards.
- Oversee fault finding, servicing and repair of Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs).
- Coach, mentor and develop technicians to build capability and performance.
- Drive process improvements and implement smarter ways of working.
- Improve fleet availability, reliability and operational performance.
- Foster a positive, safety-focused and high-performing team culture.

- Demonstrated experience leading maintenance teams in a safety-critical environment.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills, with the ability to build high-performing teams.
- Experience managing resources, priorities, and workloads to achieve operational targets.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify and implement process enhancements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions.
- Rail, rollingstock, light rail, heavy maintenance, or transport industry experience will be highly regarded.
- Cert III Electrotechnology and NSW Electrical Licence (Preferred).
