Mechanical Hotworks Planner
Wood is recruiting for a Mechanical Hotworks Planner to join the Wood team at the Ampol Refinery based in Lytton, Brisbane - on a permanent basis.
This role will support the Lead Planner with the ongoing development and implementation of various planning and quality processes, whilst assuming responsibility for scoping, estimating, planning & scheduling all mechanical piping work in a designated process area.

For 10+ years, Wood has held a Maintenance contract at the Lytton Refinery in Brisbane, Australia and have been heavily imbedded into the Ampol culture with a strong focus on team alignment across the contracting teams.
Our team of engineers, planners, supervisors, team leads, quality control, contract management, mechanical and electrical technicians, logistics, payroll, site administration, project management and human resourcing are committed in producing and distributing petroleum and fuel safely and efficiently to customers and stakeholders.
- Relevant Trade Qualification or diploma in Mechanical Engineering,
- Demonstrated experience within a similar industry or related industry workplace,
- Strong CMMS knowledge and demonstrated experience (SAP),
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills,
- Highly skilled in MS Suite Skills - Word, Excel,
- Actively commits to being a OH&S Leader,

- Monitor CMMS (SAP) daily to review notifications and ensure timely creation of accurate work orders,
- Conduct comprehensive site inspections to develop clear, detailed scopes of work for maintenance and project activities,
- Prepare workpacks, outlining required tasks, materials, vendor details, Work Instructions, and supporting documentation,
- Ensure work orders are ready for execution, including reserving materials, assigning resources, and attaching relevant documentation and services,
- Manage stocked materials and procurement activities-identify part numbers, reserve stock, and coordinate sourcing of non-stock items,
- Actively contribute to weekly planning and scheduling meetings, with the capability to lead/chair sessions when required.
